Joy Aylor, Femme Fatal

Extra Tidbits
The name of the tenacious detective who chased her for ten years is Morris Mcgowan

During this time that Joy was connected to the murder, her teenage son, Chris Aylor wrecked his corvette and died.  Trying to find the exact details of the accident, but what I have so far is that another man was driving Chris' car when they had a blow out. The car then exploded as onlookers watched in horror. It is rumored that one person who witnessed the accident committed suicide. (there are so many casualties in this case it's unbelievable!)

Here is an extra tidbit regarding Chris's death according to a commenter: "Chris Aylor did not wreck his corvette and kill himself. he was awakened to help find and convince another young man not to kill himself. Chris was ill and taking antibiotics. He was running a fever, so he asked his friend Raymond to drive. Another boy wated to race, and he bumped the front end of the vette while they raced around 1am on LBJ FRWY. Chris never wanted to kill himself. He was a delight and was happy where he was living-- with his grandparents. It has been stated that Elizabeth had an affair with her brother-in-law, a man 13 yrs her senior, but that seems an odd depiction since he began exposing himself to her when she was a minor. This has been called an affair ever since a writer for D Magazine, failed to state her age, even though she agreed not to publish the story with Elizabeth's name without posting her age..Yes, parole was denied the first time." end quote

The name of the attorney with whom she escaped before her trial in 1990 was Mike Wilson.

People who have seen the movie that know Joy Aylor personally say that she is just as seductive in real life as she was depicted in the movie.

Joy Aylor is still incarcerated in Texas. She was denied parole, I think in 2011. I'll double check that. She is up for parole again in 2014.

  1. Did yu check where she is? One article says she is still in French Prison. When did she get out of there? Was a deal struck to stop death penalty?

  2. According to something I read...France didn't release her to US custody until the death penalty was taken off the table.

  4. According to Court TV, in 1994 (11 years after the murder)she was, by Texas) sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole earliest 2011. Is she now free or is she, as it should be, kept in a little box all by herself?

    1. She was captured in France, after a car accident that started a chain of events that triggered Interpol. Sorry, you aren't responsible for her capture.

  7. I need to remain anonymous but yes, the facts are depicted above correctly.

I knew Chris and Raymond since elementary school. Raymond and Chris ran in a different circle of friends as I did. While I liked Chris, I did not like any of his friends – they were all over privileged punks whose mommy n daddy’s had more dollars than sense. it is sad to me that Chris had to fall into that group... You know the type – “daddy, I wrecked my car...” “it’s ok son, I will buy you a new one tonight when I get off work – what kind do you want this time?...”

The murder happened during a year I was going to school away from Dallas, so much of the tale I learned way after the fact. Kirk, the boy that unfortunately suicided, I always though was a closet homosexual.

Still, this entire situation may have been avoided had Larry Aylor kept it in his pants. Joy proved to be a real psycho, I could not believe the amount of BS she flung over so many people.

My question is – did anyone ever figure out what happened to Jodie Packer?

    1. I don't know about Kirk, but a month or so before he committed suicide, Kirk was talking to me about a girl breaking up with him. His own mother had committed suicide years before and he said he wanted to be with her and take his life. I advised him that everyone feels troubled sometime in high school or college and that he had much to look forward to and that if he continued to fell that way to seek advise form a college counselor or suicide hotline.

  9. It is quite wild to see comments on this. I used to hang out with Chris, Kirk, Lee, David, Jimmy, and a few others...I was a bit younger, so of course I adored them and had the best years of my life during those short years. I think about Chris every day...especially during this time. I loved him so. I spoke to him the night he died, I asked him to stay in since he felt so ill. The last words I said to him were "Well, I'll let you back to your death bed." never knowing that would be the end. He was the world to me then, a big brother. I've felt that Joy had Jody do something to the Vette since there was a trial coming up and Chris was going to have to go to the stand against his mother. After the deaths of Raymond, Chris, and Kirk, my life has never been the same. I hope she has been beaten daily in jail and will rot there...she is evil.

    1. Joy didn't have Jodi do something to the car. Chris was not going to stand against his mother in court. How could he? He didn't know her involvement in the crime, so he would have nothing to say. None of us knew her involvement in the crime. It would be a waste of time to call him in when he didn't know anything. Had he been called to the stand it would be to testify to his mother's character perhaps or the type of life at their home. I doubt that would have happened, as none of that was brought up.

  10. Didn't she try to kill her ex husband Larry?

  11. Yes she did and he sued her for about 30 million and won. Good for him!

    1. HE should be sued for being the catalyst to all this misery. Instead he's divorced again with a new girlfriend living "happily ever after" no doubt. He is 2-faced as they come and dangerous to any woman in his life; a real charmer as long as he gets what he wants and when he doesn't ...

  12. I am really curious about Hoppper's family, are his girls ok? Were they able to get a normal childhood, they were also victims in this.

  13. Yes they are doing ok and her ex husband didnt win 30 million

    1. Furthermore, there is NO $30 million even if he was awarded anything.
Since he married her to get rich, he had some nerve, don't you think?

  15. I just checked vinelink no joy aylor, my dad hired Bill Garland for odd jobs. He was once in the pest control business I don't know what he used but I couldn't breathe in our house the stench was so terrific, my mom got cancer before she passed in 2006 and I always wondered if that bug spray he used did it. I recall my lungs burning so bad I asked to sleep outside.

Does anyone know what became of him there is no listing for him either but I assume he must be dead . I remember my dad being very upset when the cops came to him asking questions. He had no idea the guy was like that. Anyone with any info can contact me Charleecrat@gmail.com

  19. I was just released from the mountain view unit in Gatesville where I was job's bunkie for 2 years. She is not the same woman portrayed as the evil one here. The woman I knew is beautiful and caring, generous is spirit and couldn't stand to see someone go without. I lived 5 feet away from her and it's hard to fake those qualities for such a long duration so I believe she's used the past 24 yrs of her incarceration to better herself. She has been my friend, spiritual advisor but more than that...she listened and provided a constant shoulder to cry on when my mother died. I hope she makes this next parole. She is not a threat to society anymore and she's rehabilitated herself. Isn't that what society wants from it's prisoners?

  20. Thank you Bren for telling us about how she relates to other prisoners. I am surprised that she is depicted as a seductress, since she married the boy she had started dating at age 14 or 15. The only opportunity she had to become the "seductress" was after her divorce. At that time, people simply noticed that men were attracted to her and seemed willing to help her.

No one knows the emotional abuse that was heaped upon her as she was growing up as well as during her marriage. There were many years that she didn't buy any new clothing for herself so that money could be saved. She put herself last and her ex-husband put himself first.

  22. Jodi Packer helped her flee the country after the murder by structuring cash withdrawals from bank accounts in amounts under 10K to fly below the radar so the authorities did not know she was compiling funds to flee. The IRS-CI worked the case and Packer pled guilty to stucturing in Federal Court in Sherman, Texas after the US Marshal's found him coming across the border from Mexico.
